Minnie E. Benning, age 91 of Dayton, Ohio was born November 9, 1928, in Pensacola, Florida to the late Frank & Carrie Davis. She was educated in the Dayton Public School system and graduated from Roosevelt High School. She received a dietary certificate at Sinclair Community College. Minnie was a retired Dietician at Miami Valley Hospital with over 25 dedicated years of service. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior, was baptized during her younger years and was a past member at Shiloh Baptist Church. Minnie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Before her illness her favorite thing to do was spend time spoiling and shopping with her precious granddaughters Kendall & Kayla. She was fun loving and outgoing. She never met a stranger and would do anything to help anyone. She loved to shop and was a sharp dresser, an avid reader and enjoyed dancing, spending time with her long-time friends, and watching cowboy shows. Minnie was called home to her eternal life on April 7, 2020, while at her residence in Dayton, Ohio. She was also preceded in death by her, husband Willie J. Benning, and brother Frank Davis, Jr. Minnie leaves to cherish precious memories and will be deeply missed by her Children; Saundra Faye Davis, Killeen, Texas, James Benning and Deborah (Darryl) Bradley of Dayton, Ohio; Devoted Daughter-In-Love, Sheila Benning; Grandchildren, Aleshia, Eric, Sierra, Dora, Darryl, Jr., Kendall, and Kayla; 13 great-children; Loving Caregiver, Sheila Holland; Devoted nephew, Mark “Tony” (Vertis) Davis; niece, Carla Raphael and nephews, Kenneth and Chris Sanders; Best Friend, Lois Rice; a host of other family and friends. We would like to especially thank Minnie’s “Special Caregivers”, granddaughters Sierra, Dora, Kendall, and Kayla for unselfishly taking time out of their busy schedules to take care of their grandmother. They always put Grandma Minnie first and were with her to the very end. We would also like to thank Reverend Jackie Robinson, Valley Peace MBC, Nurse Pam, Nurse Betty, the Hospice of Dayton Family for the care provided by their team and to all of our family and friends.
