Obituary for Willie F ELLINGTON

Ellington, Pastor Willie Fred, age 86, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2020. Born July 4, 1933 in Brundidge, Alabama to the late Henry and Carrie Ellington. Willie Fred (affectionately known as Fred) was the tenth of twelve siblings, nine in which preceded him in death. Fred was educated at Pike County Schools in Brundidge, Alabama then later joining the Army at an early age. Retired from Durion in 1998, he ministered at other churches, before becoming the former Pastor of Eternal Light M.M. Church.Fred was an extra special person to everyone that he came in contact with. He never met a stranger who did not quickly become a friend. Preceded in death by one daughter Sandra Ellington-Thomas, and one grandson Kirk Ellington. Fred leaves to cherish his memories to his devoted loving wife of 47 years Eileen Ellington, children; Diann Jones, Dwayne Ellington, Willard Ellington, Marcia (Lady) Ellington, and Adrian M. Ellington, all of Ohio. He has 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 32 great great-grandchildren, two sisters; Verla Harvey and Earnestine Shipman both of Brundidge, Alabama, 2 special daughters; Renee Boyd and Zina Hughes, special son-in-law; Jack Carlton and many nephews, nieces, friends, and other loved ones. Visitation will be held, THURSDAY, May 7, 2020 at Thomas Funeral Home 4520 Salem Ave., from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. Private services to follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Kenneth Hoskins, Eternal Light M.M.
