Obituary for Wanda Elaine KING

Wanda Elaine King, age 65 was born August 8, 1954 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Jerome and Natalie King. She was educated in the Dayton Public School system and attended both Dunbar and Miami Jacobs Jr. College. Wanda worked in health care many years and also worked at GH&R, Delco a Division of General Motors. She was a former member of The Tabernacle Baptist Church, where she was baptized during her younger years. Wanda was a member of one of Dayton's most Famous Marching Drill Teams, Dayton's own GTO's, where they won many awards and competitions over the years. Wanda was a loving, caring and devoted daughter, sister and aunt. She was especially close to her nieces and nephews. She loved family and was the family historian. She enjoyed watching television especially scary movies, listening to jazz music and writing poetry. On Thursday, January 9, 2020 Wanda Elaine King transitioned from this life to be in the presence of the Lord. She was also preceded in death by (1) sister, Deborah King and (3) brothers, Michael (Ricky), John (Joey), and Anthony (Cody) King. Wanda leaves to cherish precious memories and celebrate her life; (1) sister, Denise King and (1) brother, Shawn King; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; special cousin, Marcia Wilkes, special friend, Linda Holcombe, other cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., MONDAY, January 20, 2020 at THOMAS FUNERAL HOME, 4520 Salem Ave., with Reverend Robert Jackson, officiating.
