Obituary for Viella MYRICK

Viella Myrick was born to the late Johnny George and Ethel Lee Myrick (Berry) on June 27th, 1956, in Dayton, Ohio. She attended Colonel White High School.

Viella was affectionately known by family and close friends as “Punkin”. Punkin loved bragging on her kids, grandkids, nieces, and nephews. If you knew Punkin you knew she loved her a good wig and wearing her flashy jewelry. She was never seen without them on.

Punkin was an avid spades player who could play with the best of them and win! She was known to talk trash at the dominoes table. Her sense of humor would make her a joy to be around because you knew she was going to have you laughing. Some of her favorite sayings were “That sounds about right”; and “You dig”! There was never a dull moment when Punkin was in the room.

Punkin loved the Lord, she would talk about how good God was and how his grace and mercy saved her life. She was a longtime member of Christ Our Redeemer AME Church, Dayton, Ohio. She was a member of the choir. Even when her health started to decline you could still hear her singing God’s praises from the pews. Punkin had a beautiful voice and she touched many with her singing.

On Tuesday, November 1, 2022, Punkin passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents: Johnny George and Ethel Lee Myrick (Berry); 2 brothers: Frank Thomas, Jr.; James Lee Myrick, and (2) sisters: Mae C. McCleskey and Annie Pearl Myrick; and her late life partner Charles Wallace.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories three Sons: Marlon Myrick of Middletown, Rhode Island, Chris (Angel) Myrick of Boynton Beach, Florida, and Charles (Stacey) Wallace of Huber Heights, Ohio and One beautiful loving daughter Farra (Ricc) Smith of Trotwood, Ohio: One Brother: John “Jack” Myrick of Dayton, Ohio; Sister in Love Yvonne “Bonnie” Dudley of Huber Heights; Six grandchildren: Amos “Monte”, Shaiyanne, Shaylin, Cheridan, Eugene, and Charlee; Three great-grandchildren: Ariana, Kayden, and Olivia; Special niece, Alisha (Sharif) Thompson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
