TURNER, Talmadge, born 6/10 /1953 gone to glory 4/6 /2020 born to Randall "RT" Turner and Easter Garmon Turner youngest of three sons. Preceded in death by father Randall RT Turner; Mother Easter Garmon Turner; brother Terry Leon Turner; grandson Geraye DeKeith Martin and a niece Eunice Butler. Survived by wife Linda Turner; Daughters Ambyr Turner, Tyesha Matchem, Alicia Martin and Kim Martin; Sons Steven McHenry and Donnie McHenry; Brother Richard Butler; special grandson Jordan Dozier; special niece Julia Harrell Price (Leonard), and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, beloved family and friends. He gave his life to Christ at an early age and was a member of the Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan; Pastored by Reverend Cunninghan. He also had special ties to Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a member for 30 years. Talmadge entered the ministry in 1994 under the tutelage of Reverend Dr. Tommy Byrd, Ph.D. and assisted by Reverend Dr. David Fox, Ph.D. and served as a minister of Christ until his homegoing. He was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church for 30 years, where he was very active in the ministry, before moving to Detroit, MI. He was educated at Roseafort High School in Tunica, Mississippi, where he excelled in sports. He enjoyed playing basketball and softball until the day he died. Graduated in 1971, he moved to Dayton, OH for work and in 1973, he became a Millwright. He was a millwright 44 years, originally out of Dayton, Ohio Journeyman 801 Union. He worked 33 years at Behr and Chrysler in both Dayton and Detroit. He shared 33 years of wedded bliss with the love of his life, his wife, Linda Reese Turner. Talmadge Turner was a lover of life and anyone who came in contact with him could feel his love and care for Humanity. He believed in Christ and always tried to be exemplary in his Christian love. He loved his family with all his heart. He was the backbone of his family, willing to help in any way he could. He was love, he walked love, he talked love, he lived love to the fullest and he was loved in returned and will be sorely missed. . Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., FRIDAY, May 1, 2020 at THOMAS FUNERAL HOME, 4520 Salem Ave., with Reverend Fox, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
