Obituary for Stella M HARRIS

HARRIS, Stella M. (aka Tedda or Grannie) transitioned peacefully on her birthday, Monday March 9th surrounded by her loved ones. She was born to the late Samuel L. Fedrick and Lola S. Fedrick of Lincolnton, NC. Stella moved to Dayton, Ohio and graduated from Roth High School Class of 1963. Stella worked for the University of Dayton as a Bakery Supervisor for over 40 plus years before retiring. She enjoyed sewing, shopping, going to the movies, reading, talking on the phone and traveling to see her granddaughter “Songbird” perform in various operas. Stella was a beautiful Christian woman who loved the Lord. She was a long-standing active member at the St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church where she once served as a senior choir member and church wedding coordinator. Stella was a gentle spirit loved by many. She had so many of her granddaughters’ friends to look at her as their Grannie. As she cooked for them, picked them up from college, took them out to eat, gave them advice and just simply passed on grandmotherly love. Brittany, Rachel, Tasha, Autumn, Amanda, Dean, Daniel, Christine, Andrew, Ronni, Tempest, and so many more had a Grannie in Stella. She is preceded in death by her husband Orbin Leon Harris, Jr. and two brothers, LeVoyd Fedrick and Jimmy Lewis Fedrick. Stella leaves to cherish one daughter, Sharronna “Shay” Fedrick-Hicks, two granddaughters, ShayLyssa Alexander and ShaDaun Fedrick all of Dayton, Ohio. Stella also leaves behind one sister, Dorothy Reinhardt of Iron Station, NC as well and (4) close sister-in-laws: Norrina Allen, Linda (Ernie) Carter, Sandra (James) Quartman and Norma (Lavern) Taylor as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Special family friend and caregiver, Lucretia Elam, Dayton, OH. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at St. Luke MBC, 2262 N. Gettysburg Ave., Dayton, Ohio. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Arrangements entrusted to Thomas Funeral Home, 4520 Salem Ave. On-line condolences may be sent to the family at www.thomasfunerals.com
