Michael “Mike” L. Williams Sr. was born in Dayton, Ohio on August 23, 1946 to the late George and Gertrude “Honey” Williams. He was called to heaven to be with the Lord on February 28, 2020 in the comfort of his home and was surrounded by his loving family. Michael was united in holy matrimony to Jacqueline Williams for 45 amazing years. He graduated from Roth High School, class of 65. Retired from Delphi (Inland) after 30 years of service. He was also a coach for first Dayton little league, loved to bowl in various leagues, and enjoyed going fishing and traveling. Michael was a member of Wayman Chapel AME Church in Dayton, Ohio. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, George and Gertrude Williams; (3) brothers, James, Tony, and Ronnie Williams. Michael is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Williams; (5) children: Michael Jr. (Chanda) Williams, Monica Williams, Michelle (Shelby) Pooler, Derrick Williams, and Darryl (Nina) Williams; (5) siblings, Donnie Williams, Delores Booker, Marjorie Marbury, Larry Wells, and Andre Perdue; (14) grandchildren: Gabrielle, Unique, De’Arion, Gregory, Ganae, Karma, Damari’, Daelin, Ariel, Daena, Mike III, Dante, Marcus, Dwight; (13) great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, including his best friends, Dave Williams and Richard James. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., FRIDAY, March 6, 2020 at WAYMAN CHAPEL AME CHURCH, 3317 Hoover Ave., with Pastor Gerald Cooper, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Interment: Shiloh Park Cemetery.
