Obituary for Mafalda G. EVANS

EVANS, Mafalda (George) Andrews “Mac”, age 82, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 1, 2020. She was born to the late Woodrow and Eugenia (Brown) George on April 21, 1937 in Anniston, AL. Mafalda graduated from East High School in Columbus, OH where she exceled in track, basketball and softball. Mafalda was a member of Freedom Hill Bible Church where she was a diligent servant. She was the President of the Usher Board, organized the Annual Hat Show, Golf Tournament and the Arts and Crafts portion of Vacation Bible School. She loved life, family, traveling, playing the slots, and was very competitive. During her early years she was active in numerous bowling leagues throughout the city, played in several golf leagues including Madden Women’s Association and Fairway Golf Club where she won 1st place in a tournament and was presented an Eagle sculpture that she thoroughly cherished. She was preceded in death by her son; Isaac Andrews Jr., brother; Woodrow George Jr., sisters; Erma Jean Thomas and Virginia Gordon. She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband, Harry, two loving daughters Regina Williams (Fred), Trina (Dulaney) Johnson, grandson; Rodney Owens, granddaughters; Ryan Junelle Owens, and Michelle Hart and great granddaughter; Kay’la Owens whom she adored, sisters; Yvonne Davis of California, Marie Langston (Fred) and Cinderella George, brothers; Melvin George of California, Terry George of Georgia, cousins; Shirley Moore and Sadie Moore Stewart, bonus family; Harry (Amanda) Evans, Roger (Megan) and Robert (Tjuana) Evans Cynthia (Mark) Moon, Madeline Davis, Andrea Davis, Tracy & Marcus Broadnax, Aaron Evans, Tabitha (Austin) Love, Mar’Tyana Moon, Victoria Evans, Morgan Evans, Madison Evans, Cameron Evans, Christopher Evans, Zana Harvey, Tyshell Harvey, Michael Geter; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.. A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Freedom Bible Church, 262 S. Conover Street. Dayton, OH 45402 with Dr. Terry Hill Officiating. Visitation will begin 10:00 a.m.; the family will receive friends 11:00 a.m., until time of service. Interment: Woodland Cemetery.
