Mother, it's been two months. Just thinking about Willie F fixing you some BBQ ribs. He always wanted me to taste a bone or two. It is a sad day.

Mother, my heart broken into a million pieces when I got that phone call eight o'clock in the morning. God must have known you were tired. I am still numb. Love you with every beat of my heart.

Hello Mother, It's been a month since you went to be with Daddy Bass, Buddy, Edith, and Lamarr. I am still numb. I remember when you would call and say "I am just checking to see how my baby girl is feeling." I would say "Oh Ma" No more phone calls on Sunday asking for the Lottery numbers. It's a sad day.

My aunt baby sis. I remember the first time i met you. It was in 1970,we went to new york city to visit family and came back through dayton to visit you and stopped in cincininatti to vist my aunt lous whom i always thought was my sister lol. My cousin liz came back with us and you cooked us breakfast and opened us a soft drink to go with it and i told you that mama said ee couldnt have that and when you talked to her you wanted to know how did she get us to do what she said even when she wasnt around but she never did reveal her secret to us. Lol. Ive allways emjoyed visiting with you over the phone and through out my life as the years went by. We had a large close knit family and mama janie was the fabric that held it toghtet. Say hello to all my family up in the heavens especially my mother christine kidd. Until we meet again rest in the heavens. Love you and will miss you forever,MONK.

I was very sorry to read of Mrs. Bass' passing. She was a dedicated employee of Miami Valley Hospital. I remember her kindness and smile when she was a vital member of my unit.

Sincerely, Joy Lucas
