Obituary for Lola WARREN

Lola (Kenny) Warren was called into eternal rest on January 11th, 2023 by her Lord and Savior. She was born on February 5th, 1946, a daughter of Sarah Berry, she was born in Mississippi. She spent her early years in the South before relocating to Dayton, Ohio as a teenager. She attended Jefferson Township Schools. After graduation, she explored several career options ranging from nursing care to a head cashier at a local department store. Out of all of the jobs Lola had, she had extreme pride in being a mother. In 1993, Lola became a foster parent. She provided a loving home to children for almost 20 years. Lola was a faithful member of Mt Olivet COGIC for 54 years under the leadership of Emeritus Pastor Ozell Northern Sr and then Pastor Terry Holt. You could always find her doing God’s work. She would feed the homeless, visit the sick, make care packages for the seniors, decorate the church, and whatever God placed on her heart to do. She served as the Youth Church mother for several years.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 38 years John Warren; 4 daughters, Belinda (Roy) Spicer, Denise (Laron) Pope-Woods, Sandra Pope, Jessica (Chris) Mallory, Lannette (Joseph) Higdon, and Lacretia Warren; and 4 sons, Derrick Pope, Darius, Tony, Duron, and Jonathan Warren; and grandchildren Asia, Jaleen, Josh, Mariah, Jowah, Jayden, Madison, Janeya, Jaaron, and Maximus; and two great granddaughters, Evonney and Ay’ven; brothers Eugene (Pam) Kenny, Larry (Joyce) Foster, Danny, and Jerry Foster; sisters Jenny Foreman, Linda Foster, Kathy Terry, and Annie Ruth Foster; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; as well as host of longtime friends. She was preceded in death by her mother; brothers Jeffrey, Harry, Tommy Lee, and John Arthur Foster; sister Bertha Lee.

Lola will be remembered for her faith, grace, style, humor, and cooking. Though she has transitioned to her heavenly home, her spirit and love will continue to light this world. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who loved her.
