AMEY, John H., age 80, was born June 20, 1939 in Mabscott (Beckley), WV to the late George Sr. and Willie Mae Amey. He graduated from Stratton High School and then moved to Dayton, Ohio. He was employed at Truck & Bus, a Division of General Motors and after a long career, he retired. John was also an avid body shop repairman. He enjoyed working with his hands and revolved his life around fixing cars.On Friday, June 12, 2020 John transitioned from this life after a short illness while at Kettering Medical Center. He was also preceded in death by: (3) brothers, Roland, Arthur and George Amey and brother-in-law, Walter Robinson.John leaves to cherish fond memories and celebrate his life; his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Marion and his only devoted son, John Jr. (Tijuana) of Indianapolis, IN; (4) grandchildren, Micah Amey, Burgundy (Mike) Godfrey, Consuela Davis and Carlos Walker; (8) great grandchildren, Dante, Fae, Rae, Maleah, Mya, JoJo, Elijah and Jonathan; (3) brothers, William of Washington, DC, Donald (Constance ) of Capitol Heights, MD and Homer (Burdetta); (2) sisters, Ernestine Dews and Carrie (Maurice) Poston all of Dayton; a host of other family members and friends.
