Obituary for James D GREEN Jr.
James D. Green Jr. transitioned from this life on July 16, 2020, peacefully in Springfield, Ohio surrounded by loved ones. He was the third child born into the union of the late James D. and Mary Elizabeth Green on December 29, 1952 in Dayton, Ohio.
James was a well-known dominoes player and was affectionately called Goldie. As an avid sports enthusiast, James especially loved Chicago Bears and Bulls. He was an unapologetic Chicagoan fan and would share his disdain for frontrunner fans with anyone who inquired. In sports, and in his life, he remained steadfast and loyally committed to the people he believed in, through the good and the bad with his loving friend Carolyn Dover.
James was employed many places throughout his life with the last 15-years as a faithful employee at the Clark County Fairgrounds.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Bonnie Green, two nephews Shawn Thompson and Kevin Snowden Jr, maternal grandparents Jesse and Lucy Fox-Gay, and paternal grandmother Emma Green. Memories shall forever be cherished by his two sons: James D. Green III, and Cassidy Lee Green; five grandchildren; James D. IV, Semaj, Cassidy Jr, Infintee and Jhream Green; three sisters Joyce Brown, Delores Thompson and Vicki Green; surrogate sons Marcus and Jason Thompson, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends.
Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, July 31, 2020, at Thomas Funeral Home, 4520 Salem Ave, Trotwood, Ohio 45416, with Rev. David Fox officiating. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.thomasfunerals.com
