Fletcher Smith Sr., 78, of Dayton, Ohio was peacefully called into the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, February 2, 2021.
Fletcher Smith was born February 21, 1942 to Floyd and Carrie Smith in Fort Deposit, Alabama. He was raised in Birmingham, Alabama before moving to Dayton, Ohio in 1963. On August 26, 1967, he married Margie Williams of Carrollton, Alabama.
Fletcher worked for 30 years in the Waste Collection Department for the City of Dayton retiring in 2000. He loved spending time with others and creating memories as a tour bus driver after retiring. He was a fan of all things "Alabama" and loved the Philadelphia Eagles!
Fletcher is preceded in death by his parents Rev. Floyd and Carrie Smith, brother Joe (Virginia) Smith, and sister Elizabeth Underwood. Fletcher leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 53 years, Margie Smith; four children: Fletcher (Kimberlie) Smith Jr., Gregory (Celeste) Smith of California, Andrae (Shaton) Smith, and Tameka Smith; seven grandchildren: Tabrah (Armando) Noriega, De'Ante (Mycha’Ayla) Smith, Bryson Smith, Markita Smith, Kenneth Smith & Celine Smith both of California, and Omarri Johnson; four great–grandchildren: Levi Hamilton, Daijah Smith, Vincent Noriega, Dailan Smith; five sisters: Lucille Franklin of Ohio, Edna (Fred) Chamberlin of Georgia, Ruth (Herman) Bell, Carmella Nichols, and Mary Smith all of Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in–laws, God–children, bonus children and friends.
