BELT, ETHEL “JOYCE”, age 81, formally of Dayton, Ohio passed away peacefully at Rosemount Pavilion, Portsmouth, OH on January 22, 2020. “Joyce” was born in Cincinnati, Oh. January 26, 1938. She was the second of 4 children born to Virginia Belt Clemons and Donald W. Belt. Joyce graduated from Pique Central High School and attended nursing school in Cleveland, OH. She retired from the VA Medical Center in 1999. Joyce has lived in her care facility for 14 years with her long-term illness. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Donald J. Belt and her beloved niece Patricia L. Penn.
Survivors include sisters, Janet B. Penn and Judy Sroufe. She is survived by one niece and 4 nephews, there children and families. She is also survived by a dear cousin, Alex B. Sanford and many dear relatives and friends.
The family wishes to acknowledge and thank her doctors, hospice nurses and all of her caregivers at Rosemount Pavilion for their care, compassion and concern.
We thank God for the beautiful life of Joyce. She taught us to live life to the fullest, laugh often and love unconditionally. She will be greatly missed. Graveside Service will be 1:30p.m. Monday, January 27, 2020 at Calvary Cemetery, 1625 Calvary Dr. Dayton, OH. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Joyce’s name to SOMC Hospice, Portsmouth, OH.
