Obituary for Emily L STEVENS

Sister Emily L. Stevens was born on February 18, 1925 in Knoxville, Tennessee. She went home to be with the Lord, on January 21, 2020 at Miami Valley Hospital, surrounded by family. Sister Stevens was a faithful and devoted member of the Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, where she served with the Deaconess/Minister Wives Ministry and before failing heath, she was a faithful member of the Mass Choir, the Northwestern District Association and the Eastern Stars. But most importantly, Sister Stevens loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her Beloved Husband, Rev. Howard A. Stevens and her son, Virgil L. Thompson. She is survived by her daughter: Cordelia (Frank) Weatherspoon and three sons: Norman (Emma) Evans, Alexander Evans and Walter Evans Sr. Special devoted and caring grandchildren: RayShawna (Rev. Richard) Hopson, Raymond P. Senter Jr., Michele (Kevin) Shehee, Walter Evans Jr. and a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Beloved long-time sister in Christ: Ann Ross. Dedicated dear friends: Charles & Camilla Miliner, Alonzo & Geneva Patton and Jimmy & Georgia Rowell. Dearly close neighbors: Richard & Betty Dunn. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m., THURSDAY, January 30, 2020 at MT. MORIAH MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 301 Mia Ave., with Dr. Herman L. Walker, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Interment: Dayton National Cemetery.
