Obituary for Bobby MARTIN Sr.

Bobby T. Martin Sr. was born January 12, 1940 in South Pittsburg, TN to Joseph & Eliza Paris Martin. He departed this life December 17, 2020. Bobby was united in marriage to Betty Taylor Martin in 1997. He accepted Christ at an early age and served as a Decon at New Bethany Church for Christ where he was an active member for many years. Bobby was preceded in death by his Father & Mother Joseph & Eliza Martin, brothers; John David Martin, Leonard Martin, Elmer Martin, Andrew Martin. Sisters; Patricia Martin-Cunningham, Maryann Martin Screetch. Daughter; Joyce Holloway.

Bobby worked as a Foreman at Dura-Crete for 30 plus years, where he retired in 2006 as a highly respected employee. After retirement he began living life doing what he “loved” to do and that was Fish. He could be found wherever there was a body of water full of fish. While on the lake, you could almost bet money he was gonna pull out his harmonica and start playing. He carried that thing everywhere, but it sure sound good. He was such an amazing man that was witty, funny, smart and kind. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends and never met a stranger. He could also cook better than the average woman. For those that really knew him, there were plenty of times he would be asked to cook his famous Chicken and Dumplings or his mean Greens and would never turn you down.

It would probably take this entire program to describe the kind man Daddy, Pawpaw, Bobby, Big Bob was and what he means to many of us, but his love was unconditional and he left a permanent mark in our hearts that will never be forgotten.

Big Bob leaves to cherish his loving memory to his dear & devoted wife; Betty Martin, Sister; Lydia Isler, Son; Bobby T Martin, Jr., Daughters; Dorothea Martin, Yolanda Copeland, Laurisa (Tony) Simmons, Gale(Maurice) Norton & Faye Johnson. Grandchildren; Jason Martin, Bobby Martin III, Jonathan (Akeeta) Martin, Desiree Martin, Tiffany (Calvin Jr) Robinson, Dennis Copeland, Korey Copland, Ka’Von Sellers, Kayla Holloway, Sydney Copeland, Kassidy Simmons & Kennedy Simmons.
